Avoid the use of alfalfa in case of known hypersensitivity to one or more components and in patients suffering from gout and/or systemic lupus erythematosus .

Drug interactions can occur between alfalfa extracts and:

• Azathioprine And cyclosporine, as alfalfa may decrease the immunosuppressive activity of these drugs;
• Prednisone, as the plant can reduce its effectiveness;
• Anticoagulants oral, since, due to its content of vitamin K, alfalfa may reduce the effectiveness of these drugs;
• antidiabetics;
• Hormonal therapies (tamoxifen)
